How to Get Started
It’s easy. There are three simple steps:

  1. Create a Profile
  2. Upload Your Music
  3. We Listen, Give You Feedback and Connect You to Opportunities

Our team will listen to and evaluate your music. We categorize the content based on quality and determine if your music fits with one of our many partner opportunities.

We believe the opportunity to break through has never been greater. So stay plugged in, market yourself smarter, and continue to write and play great music...good things will eventually happen.

Our Mission

Hello Music is dedicated to connecting today's best independent musical talent to real industry opportunities, because we believe that all great music deserves to be heard.

Our Back Story

We actually come from the same place as you.

It's true. We've tacked up our posters on the same electrical poles, understand the challenges of doubling as a roadie, and played to both packed and empty clubs across the country.

We've crashed on too many friends' couches to count, disturbed our neighbors by rehearsing too late into the night, and gassed up our fearless van using a roll of quarters normally reserved for the laundromat.

But we also share something else. After witnessing many bands move to the next level in their careers, we've asked ourselves, "How did they land that deal? That should be us."…

Why We Do It

Coming up as independent musicians, we always dreamed of a system that rewarded bands and artists for what they could do, and not necessarily for who they knew. A true opportunity engine that could put our music in the ears and hands of those who actually needed it.

Let's face it, crowdsourcing just isn't enough anymore. We can spend 24/7 building up our friends, fans, and followers on MySpace, Facebook, and Twitter, but that doesn't always translate into accelerating our music careers.

Also, if you're a working artist, you probably don't have time to stay in touch with family and friends, let alone the budget to pay for professional guidance to fatten your industry rolodex (hint: blasting out your mp3 files to every 'industry somebody's' email box you come across is not a winning strategy - it's audio spam. Most decision-makers in the music business don't accept unsolicited material unless it comes from people they trust.).

So after spending years crafting rock-solid industry relationships and developing discerning ears for recognizing emerging, quality talent, we've decided now's the time to apply our learnings, knowledge, and contacts to help independent artists break it bigger.

Many companies share our philosophy and even a similar history. We're certainly not the first to address this challenge. But for the very first time, we're teaming up with and collaborating with like-minded music companies and industry influencers to offer talented, but under-resourced artists like yourself access to more opportunities. Opportunities that you couldn't even learn about, be connected to, or (in effect) land on your own.

We're not in this for ourselves. We win when you win. You see, we believe quality does matter and all great music deserves to be heard. Period.

We Listen To Everything

So why do labels, publishers, ad agencies, and music supervisors partner with Hello Music to discover new artists and bands? Because hit songs, catchy instrumentals, and emerging tracks for commercials, videogames or TV/film productions don't just organically surface from digital sound gardens.

In order for our team to discover the highest quality tracks and present them to our opportunity partners, we must first listen to and screen everything that's uploaded to our site. Both soloists and bands are encouraged to send in their tracks. There's no dress code either; we have expert screeners in every genre: from rock to reggae; from hip hop to acid jazz; from country to R&B; and everything in between.

The Hello Music digital scouting team is made up of industry advisors, successful songwriters and composers, world-class musicians, ex-label A&R ninjas, and independent music junkies that all share a love and passion for great music. All uploaded music is listened to and evaluated from our Los Angeles office.
